Adult and Adolescent Mental Health & Co-occurring Addiction Programs

At River Place Behavioral Health, we offer multiple levels of care to meet the unique needs of each patient. We provide age-specific programming for adults and adolescents who are struggling with mental health and co-occurring concerns.

Programs Overview

At River Place Behavioral Health, we understand that every patient has their own medical history, experiences, concerns, and goals. To ensure that each individual receives the personalized care they need, we offer the following age-specific programming:

  • Adult inpatient program: Adults age 18 and older can receive treatment in our inpatient program if they need 24/7 support in a safe environment.
  • Adolescent inpatient program: In our adolescent inpatient program, young people ages 13-17 can receive 24/7 support and services that are personalized for their age group.
  • Adult intensive outpatient program (IOP): Adults who do not need 24-hour care but can benefit from a therapy schedule that is more structured than that of traditional outpatient services can benefit from our IOP.

Adult Inpatient Program

Our adult inpatient program consists of 24-hour care in our state-of-the-art facility. Inpatient services include basic medical care, medication management, experiential therapies, and group, family, and individual sessions.

Group therapy is a key component of inpatient programming and covers various mental health topics, such as community-building, setting goals, coping skills, life skills, and self-esteem-building.

The typical length of stay in our adult inpatient program is five to 10 days.

Adolescent Inpatient Program

We offer inpatient programming for adolescents ages 13-17 who are struggling with a mental health concern such as depression, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), anxiety, or posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Adolescents in our inpatient program can benefit from a range of services, including basic medical care, medication management, on-site detoxification, and individual, group, and family therapy sessions.

We provide patients with several group therapy sessions each day, covering topics such as relapse prevention, communication, mood improvement, life skills, and healthy coping.

The typical length of stay in our adolescent inpatient program is seven to 10 days.

Adult Intensive Outpatient Program

Our intensive outpatient program (IOP) is available for adults who are struggling with mental health concerns but require fewer services than what the inpatient level offers.

Adults in our IOP take part in several group therapy sessions each treatment day. In group therapy, patients learn about various behavioral health topics, including self-care, distress tolerance, anger management, boundaries, and crisis survival.

The typical length of stay in our adult IOP is about 12 weeks, with three hours of therapy each day, three days a week.

Our Joint Commission accreditation shows our focus on quality care.
